The Dawn of the Witch Episode 6 – Anime Hajime Updates

Episode 6 – “Knowledge of Ignorance” – May 13, 2022

Episode Summary

Two months have passed since Saybil, and his group arrived at the village. Although Hort and Kudo have made great strides in the magical training, Saybil has elected to become a shut-in. Concerned for his wellbeing, Loux Krystas sends her students on a simple mission to get out of the house.

However, since Saybil has never thought to ask anyone for help, things don’t go so smoothly. Nevertheless, he sees his task through to the end.

Over the course of the day, Saybil realizes that there is much he has not considered and that most people are willing to help if he only seeks it out.

Episode Impressions

If there was any big setup, I either missed it or I couldn’t have cared less. There was the whole Zero-is-dying thing, but I honestly can’t remember if this episode introduced it or last week. That kind of goes to show how invested in this series I am; I quickly forget about it once I’m done.

Also, the hunter from a few weeks back will make another appearance soon.

That aside, boy, this episode was terrible. For some reason, The Dawn of the Witch really went ham with the sexuality in this episode. It felt weird, out of place, forced, and a waste of time. This show hasn’t been void of such an aspect, but it was off the charts this week.

It was astonishing how inconsequential this episode was. Keep in mind that I’m pretty sure this is the halfway point. That suggests some sort of climax is on the horizon. But this series is nowhere near ready for one.
