There is a noticeable trend in what anime tends to look like. It is a medium with a distinct visual appearance. Thus, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish one studio’s work from another’s from just a show’s animation.
That has never been much of an issue for Science SARU, and The Heike Story is the most recent example.
This show was beautiful, plain and simple. There was a much appreciated hand-drawn feel to this series (whether it was is not the point). You could tell the storytellers had a vision for this show, as well as the talent to see it come to fruition.
