Slice-of-life anime never have to be marvels of animation: why would they need to be? Their stories, though excellent, are not exactly grand or epic. Nevertheless, Komi Can’t Communicate clearly thought to itself, “That’s nice; everyone else can settle for less.”
“Gorgeous” is really the only word one can use to describe this series. Okay, yeah, this show employed a special kind of derpiness that added to its overall charm. But when this story was having a moment, it was stunning.
Animation can be beautiful even at the speed of life.
