For their final leg, JoJo and his companions travel by submarine. However, they are viciously attacked by a Stand assassin. But like they have done many times before, the group defeats their enemy.
Finally, the team steps foot onto Egpytian soul. They must now pass through the ancient desert to face their ultimate foe – Dio.

Episode Summary
Having just started their trek through Egypt, Team Joestar rendezvous with representatives from the Speedwagon Foundation. The representatives bring another Stand User to join the group – Iggy, a small, bad-tempered dog. Iggy’s Stand is the sand-controlling, The Fool.
Joseph takes this opportunity to learn of his daughter, Holy Kujo’s, condition. To Joseph’s horror, things are not looking good, and doctors suspect Holy only has two weeks to live if nothing is done.
The Speedwagon representatives take off in the helicopter that brought them, and the team continues across the desert by car. However, only a few short moments pass when the group discovered the chopper crashed and the representatives dead.
The cause of the accident was from the water-based Egpytian God Stand, Geb.
JoJo and his friends try to run. However, the Stand travels through the sand like lightning and eventually incapacitates the team’s car.
During the attack, Kakyoin’s eggs are severely injured. The group then realizes Geb’s Stand User must be using sound to track their movements. Therefore, they must remain motionless and stuck.

Episode Summary
Out of sight from Team Joestar is N’Doul, the blind Stand User for Geb. Using his incredible hearing, N’Doul continues his attack on our heroes.
Realizing sound is giving their position away, Avdol attempts to set a trap for their opponent. Although the ploy is good, N’Doul realizes the trickery at the last moment and lands a devastating blow to Avdol.
The only thing the team can do is watch as Avdol writhes in pain. Then, just as N’Doul’s Geb goes for the kill, JoJo starts making noise. This turns N’Doul’s attention away from the wounded Avdol.
Having realized Iggy can sense their attacker’s position, JoJo runs over to the dog and forces him to trigger The Fool. An annoyed and uncooperative Iggy uses his Stand as a glider to soar over the ground. JoJo grabs on, and suddenly, N’Doul can no longer track his movements. This allows JoJo to locate his attacker.
Unfortunately, a combination of N’Doul’s tenacity and Iggy’s stubbornness threatens to put JoJo in a compromising position. Just as his feet are about to touch the ground, thus giving away his position, JoJo hurls Iggy towards N’Doul. The chaos of this act offers JoJo the few precious moments he needs to land a knock-out blow.
Hoping to get some information out of N’Doul about Dio, JoJo is unprepared for what happens next. Without warning, and rather than be taken prisoner, N’Doul uses Geb to kill him.
With this ordeal over, Team Joestar heads onward to get Kakyoin and Avdol some much-needed treatment. Little do they know that in their path, two Stand Using brothers are lying in wait.

In Boingo’s book, he sees Team Joestar falling victim to many gruesome fates. However, to the brother’s annoyance, the group keeps avoiding tragedy.
Eventually, Boingo sees JoJo being blown up by a bomb planted by Oingo. Thinking they finally have their chance, Oingo sets up the bomb in the team’s car. But, as luck would have it, Joseph and Polnareff return earlier than expecting. In a panic, Oingo changes his face to JoJo’s, who had already returned to the hospital.

With his eyes still needing time to recover, Kakyoin stays behind in the hospital for a few extra days. Unfortunately, the rest of the team cannot wait, and they continue their journey up the Nile River without him.
Meanwhile, a group of farmers is passing along the banks. On the road, they come across a strange-looking sword. Try as they might, the farmers cannot unsheath the blade, all except the smallest and most bullied of the group, Chaka.
With it out, the blade moves of its own free will and murders the rest of Chaka’s group. The sword reveals itself as the Egyptian God Stand Anubis, which declares Chaka its wielder. Anubis then commands Chaka to kill Team Joestar.
As JoJo and the rest take a quick break at a riverside market, Polnareff goes off on his own for a moment. While wandering, the Frenchman notices Chaka following him. Sensing Chaka’s violent intent, Polnareff confronts his pursuer, and the two start fighting.
At first, Polnareff is thrown off by Anubis’ ability to cut through anything. Fortunately, Polnareff takes the Stand by surprise and manages to kill Chaka. However, when he goes to pick up the fallen sword, Polnareff nearly falls under its spell. By sheer luck, JoJo and the group appear just in time to distract him.
Later, Polnareff and JoJo stop by a local barber while attempting to hand the sword to the authorities. While Polnareff is getting a shave, the barber inadvertently picks up the sword and succumbs to its power. Now, Anubis has Polnareff in a highly vulnerable position.

Episode Summary
At a horrible disadvantage, Polnareff and JoJo struggle to fend off Anubis without hurting the innocent barber. Eventually, JoJo’s Star Platinum manages to break the sword in half, thus freeing its victim.
JoJo and Polnareff carefully return Anubis to its sheath and decide to toss it into the Nile. However, before they do so, a police officer arrives to see what all the commotion has been about. In the ensuing struggle, Polnareff accidentally removes Anubis from its scabbard and becomes possessed.
Now, JoJo is not only up against Anubis’ own immense power but Polnareff’s Silver Chariot. The fight between the two is fierce, and Anubis lands a stab right into JoJo’s stomach. However, JoJo uses this opportunity to have Star Platinum shatter the remaining sword bit by bit.
Polnareff is free from the curse, but he and JoJo fail to remember the other half of the sword Star Platinum initially broke off.
At that moment, a young boy picks up the blade. Anubis uses the boy’s body to toss itself in one last desperate attempt to kill JoJo and Polnareff. Unfortunately for Anubis, in that exact instant, Iggy shows up and distracts the boy’s body in mid-throw.
As a result, Anubis goes wildly off course until it eventually lands at the bottom of the Nile River.

Thoughts and Impressions
I’m just going to say it. I don’t know how I feel about Iggy yet.
On the one hand, it would be foolish to start complaining about this series being silly at this point. On the other hand, fart jokes can only go so far.
I guess I’ll still give the dog a chance.
As for the rest of the season, well, it is simply a countdown before the confrontation with Dio. I hope I am not hyping this moment up in my head. I wouldn’t want to feel disappointed when it happens. But given this show’s willingness to go big with even the most minor things, I doubt it will stop short with the big bad boss.
Thanks for following along with me. If you’ve seen this series and feel I am wrong in my descriptions, please let me know in the comments below. I wouldn’t want to put this show in an inaccurate light.
