Episode 6 – “Learning About the Darkness of This World at the Elf Villiage” – May 12, 2022
Episode Summary
Arc and Ariana have arrived at the elf settlement of Lalatoya. With Ariana’s backing, Arc is granted a meeting with the settlement’s elder, who turns out to be Ariana’s father, Dillan Tahg Lalatoya. Arc and Ariana explain why they attack a human lord’s manor. Though Dillan understands the circumstance, such an assault must be justified to the elf high council.
Ariana and her father head to the city of Maple for the meeting. At the same time, Arc stays behind and learns swordsmanship from Ariana’s mother, Glenys. During his training, Arc’s mastery over magic is no match for Glenys’ swordsmanship. He fails to land even a single blow.
In Maple, the council of elders decides that they will continue searching for kidnapped elves and will wait to see how the humans react to the assault. On their way back, Ariana runs into her legendary older sister Eevin, who is getting married next year.
Upon Ariana’s and Dillan’s return to Lalatoya, they consult with Arc over what is the next step. Dillan wishes to hire Arc’s services, but in lieu of monetary payment, he provides Arc with information on how he can overcome his curse. Arc must travel to the Lord Crown, home of the mighty Dragon Lord.
That night, Arc wonders if his curse, which was just a background story for his video game character, might actually be a thing. He decides to try an experiment and casts Uncurse on his hand. To his amazement, something happens.
Episode Impressions
This episode focused more on the setup for what will probably be the climax of this season. Therefore, if you’re looking for action and thrills, that really wasn’t a thing this week.
That said, it was great to see Arc lose the way he did against Glenys. Yes, Arc might be overpowered, but this episode proved he is not invincible. Therefore, future fights might have a bit more tension. This tiny seed has the potential to blossom into something much bigger.
Let us see how Skeleton Knight handles itself as we get into the second half of this series.
