Episode 6 – “The Raging Champion” – May 11, 2022
Episode Summary
One of the Dark Lord’s best warriors, Sylphy Marheaven, finishes 3,000 years of training (although she thought she had only done three). Upon her return to civilization, Sylphy is astonished to see how much society has grown. Then from the shadows, a masked figure approaches her.
The mysterious stranger tells Sylphy that the Dark Lord has died and reincarnated as Ard Meteor. In a rage that the Dark Lord would do such a thing, Sylphy runs off to find Ard.
At the academy, Ard and his friends learn of the upcoming school festival. Along with putting on a class project, Ard leads a group to act as security for the event. As they are hashing out the details, Sylphy comes barging in and demands a fight with Ard.
However, Ireena Lits de Olhyde doesn’t accept Slyphy’s rudeness. And as it “happens,” Ireena is a spitting image – both in appearance and strength of character – of Lydia, one of Ard’s most loyal friends back when he was Demon Lord.
Ard tries to calm the situation, but things quickly get out of hand, and he is forced to agree to a duel against Sylphy. Naturally, Sylphy is no match for Ard, but her frustration causes her to resort to dangerous tactics. Luckily, she comes to her sense before she can do any irreparable damage.
Back to the matter of the school festival, Ard’s class agrees to put together a maid café.
Episode Impressions
Any spark this series may have once had has since gone out.
Although Demon Lord hasn’t soured, it is settling into a rut of averageness. While this show’s big climax could provide one more burst of entertainment, it will need to be quite drastic if it hopes to leave behind anything meaningful.
