Episode 5 – “Will They Pass Or Fail?” – May 7, 2022
Episode Summary
Following their eventful interview, the Forger family waits in anticipation to see if Anya made it into Eden College. To their horror, she did not. However, Operation Strix has not failed yet.
Housemaster Henry Henderson pulls the Forgers aside and shows that Anya is at the top of the waiting list. Therefore, if they simply wait, her admission is almost a guarantee. Although the next few days are incredibly tense, sure enough, they get the call, and the mission can move forward.
But the start of term is still a way off. So, Anya tries to get one more day of fun with her family. She manages to strong-arm her father into putting on an elaborate play date inspired by her favorite spy-based television show.
Due to Loid’s legendary reputation, he manages to secure the funds and personnel to go whole-hog with this outing. And though the trouble turns out to be, as expected, a massive pain in the neck, Anya loved every minute of it.
Thus, no one can doubt this little side mission was a resounding success.
Episode Impressions
A bit of a filler episode, but god damn it, if it wasn’t a ton of fun. But I have been saying that since the first episode. Therefore, I want to bring up a minor concern I have.
This was an Anya and Loid-centered episode. That wasn’t disagreeable or anything, but Yor had little to do (minus her pretty awesome fight scene with Loid). My hope is that this doesn’t become a regular thing. I want there to be times when it is only Anya and Yor together.
After all, they are a family.
